Two of the main factors involved when schools are looking to purchase exhibition display boards would of course be cost and robustness of the display. On the subject of cost, you will find AYL to be very competitive if comparing with other suppliers of display boards. It’s simple really – we only source display boards in the UK, reducing any shipping costs from the Far East. In turn, because we source from the UK, our quality control is second to none. On the quality front, all our panels have reinforced corners to ensure they don’t fall apart over time. Luxury nylon loop fabric comes as standard. Alloy framed panels are also available on many of our ranges.

The Display Boards popular for showcasing coursework, artwork and class work we would have to say are our Large Modular Display Boards. These are of panel and pole formation, so are clipped together using a round pole from a C shaped clip that runs off from the panels. The great things about these panels are they can be clipped together in many different looks, from only erecting say just 2 panels and upwards also in many different shapes from being; zig zag,  concertina, crossed, L shaped, C shaped, U shaped etc. The possibilities are endless.

These display boards have a large display panel area on both sides and are Velcro friendly. What is Velcro friendly you may ask? Well posters, graphics, coursework etc can be attached using Velcro hooks. The hook side attaches to the panel and can be easily removed, leaving no markings to the panels time and time again. The back of the Velcro should have a peel back section, which is sticky like sellotape and sticks to coursework, posters etc.

The advantage of using Velcro over drawing pins would be; no pin heads shown on coursework, posters etc and no pin holes left in the posters or boards. However, if you still wish to use drawing pins then they can be used on all our boards.

Folding Room Dividers have been a big hit for schools and colleges. They are so multi use they are unreal. Use as a room divider that can be folded away when not in use. Perfect for dividing up a classroom or to cover over say a toy or play equipment area. These concertina screens can also be used displaying coursework, artwork etc, if purchased in the nylon loop fabric range. All concertina screens come as standard with lockable wheels. Available in 3 different heights and in 4, 5, 7 and 9 panels hinged together, and can be arranged in many formations, such as zig zag, L shape, C shape and U shape.

Chalkboard sales here at AYL have doubled in the past two years. This coincides with the national trend in the amount of chalkboard signs that we now see in shopping centres, pubs, restaurants and the British high street.

Many new Chalkboards have been introduced in the past two years, to suit all sorts of needs. Below is some advice on our chalkboard range.

We will start with what and where our chalkboards are manufactured. At AYL we pride ourselves on the high quality of all our products. Our chalkboards are no exception. The whole range of chalkboards that we sell are UK manufactured. Chalk surfaces are exterior grade. All wood frames where relevant are real American Redwood, which is sourced only from sustainable sources. Any brackets are precision engineered from mild steel, then zinc plated so they do not rust.

All our chalkboards are suitable for both liquid chalk pens and chalk sticks.

One of our most popular Chalkboards is our reversible A frame chalkboard. These chalkboards come in two different sizes stocked in two wood stain colours – oak and antique. The cleverest part of these A boards are the fact that each frame has two boards and each of these boards can slide out of the grove styled frame and be turned over. This becomes ideal for the pub food trade and any others who may have a lunchtime and evening menu. So it would be as simple, as after the lunchtime menu has finished for the day to slide out the chalk board section and turn over to where you would have already chalked your evening menu.

One of the biggest surprises from this year is that the traditional black board easel has made a comeback. Easels back in my day were only used in the school classroom.  Recently, they have been selling for uses such as in hotel receptions and conference venues.

We are shortly to release a new chalkboard A frame board, which has a PVC cover to both chalk areas to either use as a chalk area or as a poster holder. This will be perfect for the customer that wants a poster pavement sign that has a real wood frame finish.

A banner stand can be the ideal presentation tool for business offices or exhibition displays. With a good choice of graphics, they can make an instant, striking first impression on visitors.
